Thoughts on value? 2006 E55 Wagon

I am THINKING about upgrading. Up for a promotion at work - and if I do - might jump to a 2016 or so E63 wagon.

Current car is NC car, dealer maintained - all records - one owner since new - purchased from MB Manhattan in December 2006. No paint work / accident (other than a piece of wood that caused the mesh screen in the front to need to be replaced) Doesn't get driven in rain. 56K miles. Interior very clean. Runs great. Black, black interior. STOCK. (did upgrade to a bluetooth phone thing - forgot the name) Wheels perfect - NO curbage.

Needs motor mounts and a couple minor things - just haven't gotten around to it.

Thoughts? $25K? $20K? $15K?

Thanks

2006 with 56k. Sounds like a sweet car with what you described. No idea on prices but 15-25k sounds cheap.

Start bids at 20k. Expect to reach 25k+.

List it over at bringatrailer.com as that's where they seem to get the most attention

I think $25-30k is reasonable.

Thanks - I'd be really happy with $20K and probably thrilled with $25K.

Will advise when (if? I hope) I get my promotion and start my search for a new User Wagon........

Merry Christmas!

Are you sure you really want an E63 rather than an E55? The first is much more expensive to maintain.

You can't just list a car on BaT, they have to approve it and decide if they want it on their site. E55 wagon, they'd probably take it.

Yeah - just may be time for something "different". Would likely get something new enough to be under warranty or at least CPO / extended.

I didn't know there was an approval process - actually - good to know. (Although shady people are everywhere...)

as much as i'd love someone to get a good deal, i think you'd be giving it away at even $25k. what exactly are the little things it needs?

theres an '05 wagon w/ 66k ending on BAT today. it's got the designo option and looks to be pampered but it oughta give you a good idea of the value.

I'm not positive of the process at BAT but yours sounds like the type of car they'd be happy to list. I wouldnt be surprised if you got 35k+ if it's as good as it sounds.

Hi - it has 59K and change. I bought new Dec 2006 from M-B Manhattan, picked up Dec 28th or so and drove back to NC. It's been garaged every day and rarely sees rain. Had an extended warranty for 7/100. I did brakes last year, and had a valve cover gasket leak that the dealer repaired, and the weird transmission thing. I have all the records - serviced at only one M-B dealer in NC its entire life.

It needs engine mounts replaced (was going to do that ourselves - but frankly I am out of time with a new house build), and apparently the half shaft boots are leaking and the entire things need to be replaced? (going from memory - sorry)

I hit a piece of wood on the road 10 years ago and had to replace the mesh grill and scratched the underside of the fascia - it's not perfect. No scratches on rims. No door dings. No kids. Nonsmoker. 7K miles ago - new Michelin Pilots.

Full disclosure - I DID have a garage door incident - the freaking door stopped and it was above the rear tailgate window but 3" lower than it would have cleared - so the rear hatch spoiler needs to be painted, and there are 2 6" scratches on the roof rails. If you hold your ear to the spoiler, you can still hear me swearing - just like the ocean.

The rest of the paint is good - normal chips on hood / rockers. All the glass is good, weather stripping good, etc.

Right now it's filthy - needs to be detailed. Anyone that has asked for pics - I'll send as soon as I get that done. (my wheels being as dirty as they are would get me kicked out of here...)

Expect to get at least 30k plus even with the imperfections noted above. If you list on BAT, look at other listings to gauge your reserve. Make sure you are strong on your reserve as BAT might try to talk you down. Also, document the imperfections. It helps with transparency.

Good luck.
