E55 AMG
Recommended Tire Size

Hello Everyone.
I am glad to be on the forum and this is my first post. I just recently purchased a 2005 E55 AMG, the wheels and tires are in bad shape. So I just purchased a set of factory 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 wheels, what I need to know is the recommended tire size.

Nice wheels!
245/35/19
275/30/19 per Tire Rack. I'm sure others have gone wider.

Those are factory CLS55 wheels (double check that the specs are 19x8.5 et 25, 19x9.5 et28). I believe factory tire size for the CLS55 is 255/35/19 and 285/30/19. I have the same wheels and I run 245/35/19 and 275/30/19. Some can get away with the 255/285 combo depending on how low your car is etc.

Beautiful wheels, where did you get those? I have some stupid looking Lorinsor fan blade wheels that were on my car when I bought it. Would love to get OEM.

With your set-up do you have any rubbing issues? could you have gone wider?

I found them on Ebay, I wanted to keep the factory look.

I like those Lorinser turbine wheels ...I know someone with those on his E55, I think they look decent

Not unless I raise my car. The 25 and 28 offsets are pretty aggressive for the 211 body. I mostly drive around raised. In comfort the rear will rub over bigger dips. S1 and S2 are pretty much just for show parking haha. But my fenders are also not rolled. When I got these wheels I actually had to adjust my links to make the car higher; I used to be able to slightly tuck in the stock wheels but not with these CLS wheels. It also depends what brand/type of tire you have. For example Hankook RS3s have a very square "shoulder" vs Pirelli P Zeros that fit narrower. Some guys can run 285 P Zeros in the back but have to shrink down to 275 for RS3s or Michelin A/S 3's in my case (on this particular set of wheels). I've heard of people running 295s or even 305s in the rear but definitely not with these wheels. You'll need a wheel with a higher offset

I run 19" on my 07 E63, and the correct tire size would be 245/35-19 (F) and 275/30-19 (R) if you don't want to have any rubbing issues due to different offsets.

Nice wheels! How much you picked them up for? I've seen one set asking $2,300! I have a set for my 06 E55 and I'm testing out 245/285 with rolled rear fenders and I think they still rub a bit in back. But I love how they look, meaty and aggressive! Really wants to see what 295 look like and feel.

With your current wheel size setup, are you lowered?

still stock height, I not sure if I want to lower due to possible rubbing. Just got wheels less than a month. They’re on cheap used tires so I can test them out. Here’s a photo S2 mode...just got em powder coated last week.

Looks nice! I'm debating on the tire size right now, possibly considering the 245/275 and then lowering it a little. If you don't mind keep me posted on your test.
