Hi,
I'm in the market for an '05 W211, and I stopped by a couple dealerships yesterday and was told the wait list can be as long as 1 year. For those of you currently on a list, or have been on a long list, how long is the wait?
There are several '55's on the lot that are '03 to '04s and have anywhere from 1900 miles up to 17,000 miles on them, available now for less money.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

My impression is that the wait is not very long anymore in hte Chicago area.
May be hte dealers who are on the line could comment.

The waiting list can vary quite a bit at different dealers. The first two dealers I checked with had waits of over 1 year. I ended up ordering my 2004 e55 from the dealer in Appleton Wisconsin and received it 5 months later. I am very happy with that dealership too. Don't pay more than list price.

thats a very nice dealerhship, I passed it coming home from Rhinelander Wisconsin yesterday, I wanted to stop but we had the boat on the back and my dad was just trying to get home. They are from the Bergstrom family of dealerships right, I saw alot of Bergstrom dealers along a certain stretch of highway.Originally posted by AMGe55

Another question (and thanks for the current replies):
Should I be weary of purchasing a pre-driven (a.k.a. pre-abused) w211? It seems to me that a car like this, more than any other, would need a proper break-in and what not. And I shudder to think what some owners would be very eager to do to it in the first few months of ownership, prior to the official "break-in period."
Please advise....
Thanks
