KEYLESS ENTRY ISSUE
So today we got a pretty good rain, not sure if that’s related. My 2009 E63 has the keyless entry buttons on each door and handle. All of a sudden it won’t work on the drivers door, niether button, the small black lock button, or the open button when you grab the handle. The system works fine on all other doors. This seems very strange to me, does anyone have any possible things to check? I find it hard to believe that both buttons stopped working and there are no issues with wires to that door etc.. acts like it could be a fuse, but don’t know if the drivers door even has a seperate fuse for that feature, I doubt it.
HELP!
thx.

The Keyless Go handles are a very common point of failure. I would be surprised if all your other handles are original and still working perfectly. The only remedy is to replace the handle, which is <$300/handle. They come already painted and are VERY easy to install.
Oh and yes, they fail because water/moisture gets inside.

coming up with doing some quick research. Perhaps it will start working again once it has a chance to dry out? In the mean time, I guess I need to start searching for a new handle. Sort of sucks, I just got the car and have only had it for about 4 days and everything worked fine until today. Oh well.... thx

They go in n out, intermittently until it finally crashed. Mine done so for a few years, now just the passenger side doors works; the driver side doors (both) only can be unlock with keyless. Trying to prolong from having to spend $400 for replacement.

Thanks... What I found weird is that both buttons stopped and then returned at the same exact time. Perhaps there are multiple points of failure inside the handle that can cause one or both buttons to go out individualy, or farther up the harness, both at the same time?

Sounds to me that we should all cover that circuit board with an epoxy resin to prevent moisture from causing malfunctions and ultimate failure? Anyone else thought of this?

I had my drivers door handle replaced, as I encountered the same issue that your presently having. Working intermediately most times, just got frustrated and had it replaced. It's a easy replacement, my tech had it done in no time. The door handle was purchased from Mercedes, and it came pre-painted in my vehicles color. And I paid +/- $250 and $80 to install it. Couldn't be happier.
This is common failure point with these cars, as the drivers door handle is the most heavily use part for entry and exit.
