Burping coolant on e63?
hello does anyone knows how to bleed the cooling system on a e63? I replaced the thermostat and after adding coolant the car is running at about mid 100 degree Celsius.. sometimes it went pass 110 but it goes down eventually...I read online that it’s a self bleeding system?
Thanks

It's apparent that you have air in the coolant system somewhere. When you remove the engine reservoir cap, do you see any bubbles?
If not, I recommend that you take you car to a independent MB shop, and have them bleed your system. Having air means that coolant can be blocked from circulating, thereby causing your car to overheat.

My car operates around 87 Celsius that equates to 187 degrees, which is normal. But at 110 -112 isn't normal, in fact your oil is running very hot.
Is your oil cooler fan running at all. I replaced my oil coolant temp sensor, as my oil temperature was wacky. My oil cooler fan comes on at 99 Celsius, and we checked that fact.
We also reset the system. Before all this happened my oil temp was 81 Celsius, it stayed there like clock work, then all the sudden it started deviating from 81 - 91 and not staying consistent.
So we had to replaced the oil temp sensor and now it runs a constant 87 all day. So it might be a oil temp sensor, and it wasn't easy to replace or cheap.
As it resides next to the AC compressor, and not easy to get at.
