Michelin Pilot Super Sport in factory size, they work great in the dry and the wet and down to just above freezing. Once the road freezes you need a proper winter tire.

First off, where do you live? Do you get any snow? What type of driving do you do? If drive comfort important to you?
When you want a tire that is slightly wider? Do you require a tire with more grip? As there are so many options to choose from.
Also you can try www.Tirerack.com or give them a call. This is where I buy my tires from.

if you don't plan to do much performance driving most if not all tires will be fine paired with the factory traction control. just insure you have the appropriate tires for your environment, i.e. rain, ice, snow. As far as performance tires, there is a slew of tires out there to choose from. FYI, they can become rather pricey.
additionally, when purchasing always confirm the tires you are purchasing are XL weight rated as anything less could be a concern. with over 500bhp on tap even the best of tires can easily become shredded if you try.

What Barry and Yuille36 said, but...
I'll tell you what I've been running from day one, and I live in the Chicagoland where the Arctic temps, snow and freezing rain have plagued the area, lately: Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06.

I usually run Sumitomo HTR Z III tires on my cars. They're fairly cheap and I have no complaints about them. My housemate has them on his E39 and loves them as well.
I can't justify spending another $400+ on a set of Michelins or Continentals when any driving I do 100% does not require them. For the money, the Sumitomos are a great tire.

I also have been running Continental Extreme Contact DWS, but in 2017 went to the DWS 06. These are great overall tires for the various seasons.
I highly recommend them, for anyone that deals with rain and occasional snow.
