Exhaust smell in cabin with windows DOWN
PFA.. HELP PLEASE! Exhaust smell in cabin only with windows DOWN
Spent time and money after installing long tube headers to find the cause of exhaust leak. Nothing, had every joint welded tonight other than flex-header and there is NO leak.
If I’m cruising at a speed with my window down it’s fine, but if I accelerate at all, within seconds the cabin reeks of exhaust. Windows up, everything is fine and no smell at all.
All I can think of is the windows down causing a vacuum and sucking air back in through the rear? My question is WHERE? I don’t know where to start, where are the one way vents located?
My trunk is empty/gutted and I can’t see any vents to the front. Ideas???

I may be wrong but it seems very logical.

I recently installed LTH with no cats, then I changed primary O2 sensors and exhaust smell got a lot better.

M113K runs rich by nature, without cats the smell is awful especially when your really heavy on the throttle, the smell your smelling is not due to a leak.
I got 463 hp @ the wheels on dyno, WITH all my cats in place, so they can still make power... Weistec ECU tune + underdrive pulley

OP welcome to what every good running car on the road smelled like before exhaust kittahs.
Give it it catalysts and give yourself and everyone behind you a *cough! Break.
Modern cars lose very little power for having catalysts.
