E55 AMG Smoke Show

E55 AMG Smoke Show
Hi everyone, excuse my ignorance but I just had to post something to be able to use my car to its fullest potential. I drive a stock 2005 e55 AMG and I absolutely can not do a decent burnout in it. In sport mode with esp off and without using paddle shifters I will floor the brake pedal and then stomp the gas and hold them both to the floor. The tires spin immediately but my engine bogs way down and only spins the tires at like 2000 rpm. I have a video of it to post in order to show what I mean. I have heard of using dump mode but am afraid of using it because of the horrendous stories of going into limp mode. What am I doing wrong? Do I only need half throttle or lighter braking or do I need to manually put it in first or second? I am at a loss and want to hear what my fellow e55 owners have to say.

2 very important things: 1) ESP is not fully detestable with the button in the car, you have to go into dyno mode as you referenced.
2) These cars do not have LSD’s so even if you are in dyno mode you won’t be able to do a full blown brakestand like you would expect, with the computer braking each side as it loses traction. You can get a decent burnout if you romp on it with ESP off in a straight line.

i have only done one burnout in mine since i bought it (not my cup of tea really) so i could video it for a mate. started out spinning only one wheel but as the car moved a bit quicker, both rears seemed to start spinning producing more smoke. definitely had twin black lines on the road. that was with ESP switched off and a braked start. not sure if i stomped the gas pedal all the way to the floor or not?

It's widely known that 2005s and 2006s don't allow throttle/brake overlap. This is a TCM/ESP issue that no one has a clear answer for.
My 2005 C55 won't let me do a standing burnout or a proper drift. My 2004 E55 will burnout while holding the brakes all day long.

I don't get the appeal of doing burnouts. Even when I was younger I couldn't see the point in just destroying tires for no good reason.

Why even bother driving an E63 when there's a sensible E320 CDI option available? What's the point of paying more for gas, oil, tires, brakes and depreciacion?

Why not mash it and do a real drift burn out...anyone holding the brake is lame.

I'm not out to impress anyone. Don't give a **** about burn outs and I don't like buying tires.
