XS Power Long Tube Headers
XS POWER LONG TUBE HEADERS.
Just received my long tube headers for my 2006 Mercedes CLS 55! I can not be happier. I ordered these on Sunday and it is now Friday. The company has been responsive in replying to emails regarding the headers too. The pictures below are them unpacked. They arrived in one box very securely packed. I can tell that these are quality made. I will have these installed in the next month or two and will post a video then. If anyone is considering long tube headers definitely consider this company, they are great value!!!

Really? You just got your headers, having never posted on this forum before and decided you needed to create an account and post that exact same copy and pasted sales pitch in a few random threads?
Seems legit.

Yep that's the one. They are the same headers. Took some work to get them mated to the factory pipes, and some minor banging on heat shields for clearance. I used the T bolt clamps it came with, sealed all the unions with ultra copper RTV and put an impact on the clamps. Havent had any issues since install was done.
Overall I thought they were a good value if you were willing to put in some work to get them installed.

I have the XS power/ Huron Speed branded ones. They fit pretty good but I had to cut the heat shield on the driver side to stop the rattle. Other problem is that the extra power blew out the motor mounts so you might as well do those. I tried the Maybach mounts with black series transmission mount but the engine still flexes enough for the headers to rub under hard acceleration, so next up will be poly mounts I guess.

so not to sound tooo NEWB but what is the big deal if I just take the heat shild off? if the issue is the heat shield I have wrapped headers before with some black header wrap to keep the heat down - wont that suit the purpose? and also fix the heat shield issue
I mean if I get these http://xs-power.com/mercedes-amg-headers-1.htm its like $900 off of the others
I can buy 2 sets and use one as a dorr stop? from what i reasrched the power gains seem good too

You don’t have to remove heat shield on these LTH! I’m going to start a thread on how I got rid of 95% of rattles and vibrations on these infamous XSP. Stay tune!

No more vibration on cheap Chinese LTH
So after installing LTH I had major vibration at idle and even at WOT. Drove her around like this for awhile even over the summer and took her to Fontana Speedway 1/4 track with best time slip of 11.7 in July. Stopped by my exhaust shop numerous times trying to figure out where’s it’s rubbing and my guy popped in 2-3 rubber grommets in between tranny mount to lower LTH a tad and it seems to help vibration by 95% as I thought from my previous post. That wasn’t the fix.
long story short....I end up replacing all spark plugs which were new in Dec 2018 at the same time LTH was installed but for some reason plugs got burnt out quick (could’ve be tune related). Once plugs were installed, she runs smooth, no sputtering at WOT or vibration at idle. Took her to the track last month with some additional mods and got 11.6, still need more seat time and tweaking of KC and I’m hoping to hit low 11s.

Best bang for the bucks! Running these LTH for a year now with no issue, tracked her four times with 16 total passes and she still roar on demand. Can’t wait for next season.
Best mod to open her up with night n day NOTICEABLE power gain!

OK im kind of sick and tired of the smoke blowing on these things so here goes.
Sure they "might" fit fine and work fine and all that. I have modified two of these huron headers from LHD to RHD for a couple of people here in NZ and I build custom headers on the side for the RHD crew so I know exactly what im looking at.
Things I have noticed:
The collector is pressed mild steel or some other chinese muck metal.
The "tig welds" are actually all mig welds that have been run over with a tig welder to make them look pretty (I actually almost took my hat off to them for that trick)
The flange is mild steel or something magnetic
I have mounted them on a level jig and one header (the RHS one) sticks up at a totally different angle than the other header
Other than all that they are a decent product and obviously unbeatable for the price
All that on top of them coming from a country that is clearly trying to wreck western industry/economies in more ways than one and I just find it kind of annoying to hear all the utter rubbish stated about these things.
One day you people will realize you dont get free lunches but by then it will be too late.

I got these and though the headers went in ok, the mid-pipes to resonator didn't fit my CLS55 quite right. Fortunately it was just $200 to have a local exhaust shop replace that length, remove resonator and add a couple o2 bungs. Couldn't be happier now.
