Catless Smog Test

I installed LTH, mids, and x pipe with no cats and no resonators. I also got a tune and have no CEL.
I absolutely love the car now...but, tags are due in a few weeks and yesterday the test came back as failed / not ready. Specifically “The “OBD CATALYST”, “THE OXY SNSR”, and “THE OXY SNSR HEAT”, all came back “UNSET”. Other than getting removable test pipes from the LTH company I got mine from, is there any other route to pass the test?
Thank you in advance.

Location? Smog tests vary state by state.

I'm guessing you're in CA and if that's the case you're ****ed. Either find someone to pass it (good luck) or go back to stock for the test.

I'm in CA so I'm not familiar with NV smog laws. Have you contacted the company that you got the tune through to see if they could code that stuff out?

No visual inspection here. They just connect the car to the computer by OBDII. I know that much. Renntech(Tuner) told me to either tune it back to stock and see if that helps pass the test, or just put the OEM headers back on”. I believe there’s gotta be something else that can be done. I’ve also contacted Mike at MBH Motorsports(where I got the headers/mids/x pipe from) several times to see if getting the test/mids catted pipes will help, but I have yet to hear back from him.

Hi Teknic, are you in Vegas? If you're in the Vegas area I can help you. Passing smog here is very easy. First off you need to tell Renntech to turn your monitors back on in your tune. Yes this will bring back the CEL but there is a way to fix that. To avoid the CEL via tune all the tuner does is set your monitors to 'Not Ready". This unfortunately causes the issue you're having and won't allow you to pass smog in Nevada.

1) Have your tuner set your monitors back on.
2) Plug your rear O2 sensors back in.
3) Insert a mini cat extender like this one: https://www.fabspeed.com/universal-o...verter-single/
4) Reset codes and complete a drive cycle.
5) Check if your monitors are all in "Ready" via Star. If they are you're ready to pass smog.

If you don't have Star hit up Silver Arrows Motors on 4350 Arville St #460, Las Vegas, NV 89103, (702) 902-5570. Ask for Josh and tell him Alex with the whipple E55 sent you. A lot of AMG/Benz guys in Vegas go to them and are very mod friendly. They can also get you the mini cats you need. Shoot me a PM if you need any help.

In my old car that still has 2 cats, after the ECU is reset I have to drive like 900 miles before the readiness sensors all read green; including the o2 sensors.
