Supercharger Vacuum Line Pic
Hey guys, I recently did valve cover gaskets and like many others got a CEL and high idle for a vacuum leak. I went through some threads and they all pointed to the same line, but I felt like the pictures weren’t the best so I wanted to share my picture that shows precisely which line we’re talking about. It’s attached to the upper right VC bolt closest to the firewall, and feels right without you knowing it’s in the SC. I took the driver’s side surge tank off and it made it 10x easier to see and plug the line back in. Good luck to anyone who has the same problem in the future!

Funny I did VC gaskets today as well and had the same issue with the breather tube dislodging. Didn’t have to take off surge tank, what I’ve done is climbing/leaning over the engine from passenger side and looking under surge tank there’s a gap you can see the end of the tube and was able to manipulate the tube with your left hand to guide it back into port. Use a flashlight!

Absolutely! You showed me around yours back in September/October last year before I picked mine up. I have refrained from reaching out for too much but I know you’re the guru, especially here! Would love to meet up. My wife and I just welcomed our first baby last week and with a bit of time off I’ve been buttoning up a few things on the car. Need to overhaul control arms and tie rods sometime soon; was hoping to get to 100k first but getting some squeaks and looseness already at 76k. Otherwise everything going great!

It's on the left, driver's side only. You can see the fuel hose there.
When you reinsert the pipe into the rubber grommet the bracket will line up nicely to where it is attached to the valve cover with a screw 9 Nm.
When removing the left side cover to replace the gasket and reseal the breather cover, pulling the pipe out of the grommet appears to be a very common problem.

These are some great pictures. Thanks for sharing. I noticed today that I’m missing the rubber grommet that sits inside the hole on the supercharger (shown in the pictures). Does anyone know the part number for the grommet?
