So im not a huge fan of the lack of cup holders in my E55 and saw that the 05 and 06 got a differing center console with count em.2 cupholders that are good sized. So the question is can u just take out the stock 03 center an insert the center from a 05 to 09 w211?? Has anyone done it?? Any problems?

It's a little more complicated than that. You can update to the rolltop console, but you'll need to get matching shifter trim since the old piece won't fit the new style. I did it on my '05 E500 and like it much better than the earlier clamshell with lousy cupholders.

Nope. When shopping for a new console, make sure it includes the removable cup holders
