Need help with supercharger cooler pump not on with ignition
So I just want to say this post is not for e55 but for my 08 jaguar xkr. It has a supercharged 4.2 engine with eaton m112. Setups ia very similar to the m113 mercedes supercharged engine . Im posting here since I see that m113 AMG folks on here have a lot more experience with modifying the intecooler systems . Sadly there is not much support on Jaguar forums so this is why im here. I do have a w210 e55 which I had for 11 years now, but its not supercharged.
So back to my issue, on my Jaguar im pushing close to 100hp over stock and now am at 511hp to crank, so cooling upgrade is a must for me. So I decided to upgrade my supercharger coolant pump with higher flow rate Bosch 001 unit. Now my replacement went with no issues but i ran into a problem that there was no power to the pump with the ignition on, im suspecting it only comes on during certain conditions. For my drag racing events I would love my iat to be lower and the pump to be on all the time with ignition on or have a switch for it. Any issues with having the pump on with ignition on?
I would appreciate i any experience you guys can share dealing with the Mercedes supercharger cooling system.
