E63 wagon - thoughts on selling

Considering listing my 07 E63, it has shared daily driver duties off and on for the last 5ish years with my other vehicles and has accumulated ~146K miles. It's overly maintained including preventative maintenance (headbolts and lifters, front rotors) and a few modifications (main being ARH long tubes). It does have some negatives, cosmetically it's not perfect and the transmission is not as crisp as it used to be but still will rip through all the gears. Maybe I'm biased as my other 722.9 has the rev match tune and in OEM form it seems sluggish by comparison.

This is not a for sale post, but a gauge to where the market is at since the wagon thread in the old classifieds is locked. Would I out of line asking $25K for the car?

Picture for attention; E63 P030 two piece wheels with new rear rubber are currently on the car.

The market has been soft with inventory and Bring A Trailer is always a great resource. I think you are close on your price, probably a little higher miles for BaT.

The last few:

$32K with 53k miles

$25k with 92k miles and some damage history

$27k with 86k miles and damage history

Thank you, yes I agree with the mileage and BAT--they're reserve prices are way too low for my comfort and negations on reserve are non existent. I have reached out to them in the past for selling my Defender and other vehicles and they've always been about 10-25% under what I think would be fair for both parties, especially when cars close for absurd dollars on their auctions.

I think my wagon would be close to par for the 92K mile example, with the addition of 50K miles the $10K worth of maintenance/performance may be a wash for the miles.

I was going to say BaT as well as that's pretty much the "market" these days it seems on these wagons. With good maint. on your mileage I'd guess around $22k-23k. I've been looking for a wagon w211 wagon for about a year now and surprised by the high pricing on BaT.

I will be honest with you. High mileage is undesirable - no matter how great the maintenance has been. That's because high mileage always means more maintenance is coming up. Have you ever noticed the car ads where people list every little thing they've done to a high mileage car by the mileage? It seems like it never stops because small things keep popping up on older, high mileage cars -- even the ones maintained like yours.

That being said the E63 wagon is a classic with a small fan base. I think $20k-25k is reasonable given the small number of them around; but I also would not be surprised if you wanted to get out of it fast and had to let it go for $18k.

Good luck with the same and beautiful car!

As a current wagon owner I think that price is fair. On average with that mileage they seem to hover around the 20k mark. With your headbolts done I feel you can easily ask for 25k and it is a fair price. There have been others without that maintenance and slightly lower mileage going for around the same. This may sound silly but even though I have 1/2 as many miles as you do. I want that color so bad. Wish it was the color of my wagon.

Thank you all for the advice and insight. I'm still on the fence of selling the wagon, but I may get off my lazy bottom and put together a sale ad eventually.
