Supercharger Magnet - Should I Be Concerned?
As I'm having an internal conversation with myself over pulley options (had an FSP and shift delay drove me crazy, got a new 84mm but gap is too large for comfort, now I've got my stock pulley back on...) I noticed 'pitting' around the snout of the supercharger where it meets the magnet.
Anyone else noticed this, and is it concerning? I've never heard of a snout/magnet failing and blowing up, this only covers about 30% of the circumference around the snout.
What I'm leaning towards is a 77mm clutched pulley, I got addicted to the boost of the 80mm and I have the older 280 supercharger so the 77mm should be safe for boost (I've got an 010 pump and PLM H/E, colder climate and no racing).
However if this is concerning enough I might need to look for a newer SC soon? Would love input!

Yeah the pictures of the ring all look pretty similar. My concern is the base of the snout, right where it meets the flat contact surface, they seem somewhat shallow but are definitely pits with 1mm+ of depth. I know there must be a good amount of torque around that area as the clutch engages.

I think that is fine. There is no clutch contact there so corrosion would be expected. I'm not sure how the whole thing is constructed but I am guessing it is where the clutch surface material slides on to the centre shaft. I wouldn't replace it.
