Wrap the exterior silver trim with electrical tape
I know this sounds ghetto but I did it on my Grand National years ago before getting it repainted and after tearing off the body trim molding. Electrical tape is essentially vinyl wrap and holds up very well in the heat and temperature extremes. As long as you don't scrub the **** out of it and are mindful when washing the car, it will last quite a while and can be removed with little to no residue. It's easy to apply: Clean the trim and surrounding areas thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. Pull out 10-12 inch sections and lay it down without stretching the tape. It lays down nicely without bubbles and can be manipulated and stretched without kinking up. Then use the corner of a credit card or a guitar pick to work it into the seams and around corners. Next, use an exacto knife with a very sharp or new blade to cut it. Finally, use the credit card or guitar pick again to work it in a second time. You can do the entire trim in about an hour and a half taking your time. The front sections are a little tricky since they are wider than standard electrical tape. I opted to pasti-dip those two sections. You can also do the chrome edge above the license plate.

if it works, it works. If you like the look can always paint them down the road.
Now it's time to black out the fender emblems to match the rest!
