Keyless Go Question

Keyless Go Question
So I finally got an E55...
2006, White, 142,000km (88,000 miles)
It's a well sorted car with no issues to speak of. Goes like it's *** is on fire!
BUT... Why on earth don't the door unlock when I grab the handle? Or lock when I push the button on the handle?
Yes, I've gone through ALL the menus and made sure everything relevant is enabled.
PLEASE HELP!
(unless my car doesn't have this feature, then flame away!)

Very common with keyless entry door handles. Often the sensors get messed up with moisture and won’t function anymore. Need to replace them and they’ll cost you an arm and a leg ($200-300 each). I might have one or two in working conditions. Will have to check

Time to replace the handles. It's not that hard to do and my mechanic did my driver's door one in less than 15 minutes. Granted he's done a lot of them so expect to spend a lot more time if going DIY. It's not that difficult of a job though.

Sigh... Bummer... Oh well. So seeing as I'm the only one who ever gets in my car, will replacing only the driver's door handle make the system functional again? (assuming the handle is the problem)

I just replaced both the front and rear drivers side handles, earlier this year they run about $250 +/-
Everyone that commented is correct the electronics in the handle get fowled, and the only true fix is to replace it.
The best part, is that you can purchase them in your car's body color, so no need to paint them.
It's an easy fixed, but not cheap.

my driver side is the only one that works; will eventually replace the others. You can find used ones in good condition on ebay for roughly 100 each (sometimes more/less). there are DIY instructions here in the forum and should take 20 mins or so.

Typically the drivers door handle will go bad first, as this is the most used door handle on the entire vehicle.
And I seen these on eBay, but I choose to buy a brand new one. Because like all things on ebay, they can say that it works, but then it doesn't.
Besides buying from the dealership, you have factory warranties that apply to the purchase.
But it's your money, choose wisely.
