Broken O-ring on top of the left (driver side) strut tower

New member. First post. If there is an existing thread (having found it yet) on the subject, I apologize. Please point me to it.

Purchased an 2005 E55 about 5 weeks ago. Finally had a chance to inspect it in detail last weekend. Found a broken o-ring on top of the left strut. Didn't find any information after searching the W211 AMG sub-forum (didn't go through all 900+ threads) and internet. Any help to determine if it is an immediate issue and/or how to fix it is appreciated.

There are other issues; I can find some information on those so far. I am sure more will show up.

You gave me the idea to look into replacement parts (Arnott and Bilstein). Found the following image from FCPEuro on Bilstein. It looks like the o-ring is to keep dirt out between the plastic cap and metal mounting plate, I hope.
