So, I recently noticed a coolant leak and metal shavings in my coolant prompting me to replace my water pump. After successfully doing that, I noticed I still had a leak, with signs of it spraying along the driver’s side of the intake, as pics attached show. I assumed it was radiator and just finished replacing tonight. I noticed when removing the upper hose that the recovery hose was broken where it attaches to the upper hose. As I filled up the tank, I heard coolant pouring out somewhere, and sure enough it was from the recover hose. As it’s a 14 year old car in south TX, I don’t regret replacing everything but it was a big learning experience. See pics.
I had to replace mine a few weeks ago, when I also replaced my head bolts. This bad hose explains my coolant leak, that I couldn’t diagnose, as I already replaced the radiator months ago.
