MB did a strange thing with the glove box light.
So on my 2006 e55 the light in the glove box is only on when the car is running and the doors open, seems very strange most other lights are on with the key in p1 or p2. I figured that the light would be controlled by the switches that hold the door shut and that the switch would have power once the key was in p1 or p2 but no, for some strange reason the car needs to be running, anybody else seen this? Seems very stupid as far as I'm concerned.
Seen other people talk about running a wire from the cigarette lighter but if I was going to do that I'd just pull the radio get power from where it gets it and just leave the bluetooth device behind the radio, just was to lazy to pull the radio so far.
Cig lighter takes 2 seconds to get to, no tools required, and can be finagled around to the passenger footwell and up pretty easily if you go that route. Have to remove the disk changer(or cubby) and then the radio to get to the radio wires. Not hard to do but your comparison of just using the radio if you were going to do the cigarette lighter is not a real good one.
