W211 Mercedes E55 Bent Spark Plugs?

Hello! 2004 Mercedes E55 with new motor (64k). Everything you can think of has been refreshened up (valve gaskets, oil, spark plugs, filters, mounts blah blah) Anyhoo I get a misfire in Cyl 1 after driving home and kind of pushed it. Ok... opened her up and found the two spark plugs bent. Had older ignition coils from other engine so swapped it, swapped ignition coil wires as well, and fresh spark plugs. Boom everything went well. Few days later we get a misfire again in Cyl 1. Opened her up and found the plugs again bent with some gravel like material on it. Any help please? Thanks!

Are you running the correct plugs? That's obviously from the piston hitting them.

Probably has a full E500 engine or maybe different heads. This is what happened to a member with an M113K block and N/A heads. Switch to short reach plugs with a colder heat range, the Bosch FR8s are way too hot.

After just seeing the photos, that was my first observation that the pistons are hitting the plugs, because their too long. Try shorter plugs, and your problem should be resolved. But also check the plug gap.

Once previously a member had W210 M113 heads on his W211 M113K motor. Different length plugs in the two motors.
