Those type of connectors are usually for sensors. I can't tell from the pic but if it's a two pin connector it could be for the IAT sensor. If it's a three pin it most likely goes to the MAP sensor.
all that stuff is connected. the the 2 knock sensors are plugged in, position sensor on engine for flywheel?, both throttle bodies one, Even have dropped my transmission to give me a better view, not seeing anything, At this point Without pulling the engine, i can not see where this last wire connects to. was hoping someone recognizes it, the wiring loom seems to be taped together from the factory ive circled the area. 3 wire plug , brown with purple line? , red with purple line, pink with black line.
I just looked at my spare motor (06 CLS) which has the wiring harness still connected. That zipped tied bundle of wires goes to the CPS, IAT, and MAP sensors. The former two are both two wire and later is three wire. My MAP sensor connector shows a brown w/ grey strip, red w/ grey or very light purple stripe, and a pink w/ black stripe.
is this the maps sensor? My buddy doesn't remember if he hooked this one back up. found this pic from another thread. ill take a peak after work. hopefully this is it lol. Thanks for looking for me btw.
Yes, that would be a good idea to remove the passenger surge tank since it's not difficult and fairly quick to do. I had a tough time pulling off the connector from the back and that was with the motor on a stand.
