How Long do Engine Mounts Last?
Hey Guys,
Curious...how quickly do factory mounts last in your experience? I not to long ago replaced my factory mounts with CLK63 Black Series mounts and they felt great...as of recent...my headers have more and more been coming into contact with my lower brace. This occurred with my previous stock mounts over time because the factory mount shrunk by 10mm.
wanting to know if i wasted my money on these mounts and if i should have went with one of those billet set ups. I did purchase from FCP Euro which has a lifetime warranty, but the labor rate to install these isn't that nice.

I was mildly surprised coming into these cars that engine mounts are a wear item. I understand that if everything's stock they should be replaced at around 35k miles. YMMV if the engine's been breathed on. I got tired of replacing the oem mounts about every other oilchange and so put some eurocharged urethane mounts in instead. A bit of nascar at idle. Underway there's no difference. Been a couple years now and no trouble.

My stock original ones were cracked after 30k miles but that is probably due to time more than use. Replaced with black series and no noticeable decrease in comfort.

There have been threads on this for many years. If you want the buttery smoothness of factory mounts for more than a month, you need a nylon strap on the drivers side. If I remember right, this was pioneered by Hulk, with complete instructions. Then a few people did a cable wrap, but it didn't look as clean.

my issue with the W211 E63 is that the headers are so big they clear the lower mid brace with 5mm of clearance. any lower for me and it'll be as now, resting on the middle brace. i'll search for Hulk's thread. didn't think i'd need to do such a thing with brand new black series mounts.

How long do engine mounts last? Depends on several variables including power and driving style. We have seen brand new mounts break in one track day. Many people drive on bad mounts without knowing it as well.
Our mounts are serviceable so you replace the inserts if needed, instead of the entire mount. There is slight vibration mostly felt at a stop and many people have reported they don't notice any Vibration at all. Our mounts are designed to be 10mm lower than a brand new OEM mount. We have not had clearance issues with the lower brace, and have eliminated headers tuning the chassis in many cases. If you feel you need the extra 10mm clearance we can machine spacers that can be used.
We were the first to offer billet mounts for the M113 and have been selling for nearly 3 years now including in some of these fastest AMG's in the world.

@EastCoastEuro,Can’t tell from your website if you offer M156 motor mounts. Can clearly see that you offer M113 mounts. Also, is there a link on your site for ordering products?

We are currently sold out of M156 mounts (differ by chassis). We do not use a link to order because we like to talk to our customers and make sure they are what they are looking for and to make sure we have them in stock. We can be emailed at info@eastcoasteuro.com
