Oh you saw me!! What car where you in?
The yellow lights are a new type of H.I.D (High Intensity Discharge) Xenon replacement bulbs developed by Philips. The size is D2S. The standard Xenon on production cars are usually 4100k color temp. Most after market lights are 5000k - 7000k which give the light an even more intense blue to purple hue..These new ones developed by Philips Japan are 3000k..when you switch them on they are a very intense yellow. Yellow halogen fog lights are widely used because yellow can penatrate fog much better than white or blue and hence why philips developed these for markets where adverse weather conditions prevail..i.e.....places with strong fog, rain, snow. This works especially well in Hong Kong especially during summer. I live up near the peak so the fog is really thick around this time!
Here is the philips Japan site:

I will post some pics soon....
