Flat tire blues

Hasn't anyone experienced a flat yet, and does anyone have any suggestions regarding the problem of no spare? I had a flat and with the repair and the tow it cost me $142. And I didn't have my car for 2 days. We wanted to drive to Virgina next month and now we're leery to stray from home.

There should be a sealant cannister for tread punctures and an air pump in the trunk for a temporary fix.

If you don’t want to get stuck because a non-repairable sidewall puncture, it was discussed to get the inflatable spare for the current SL and rearrange the battery in the trunk wheel well so it would fit.

Thanks, guys. You gave me some avenues to pursue. There is a Tirefit package in the trunk, but it tells you not to use it for a flat. HUH?

I've found the tirefit stuff to be useless, hence the need for a spare. As indicated in the thread T-Bone spoke of I did indeed get it fitted in like the photos, the issue is the dealer would not do due to liability reasons. I went to my local service station with the photos and they did it without any problem. Once it's done you will have to re-sync your windows and sunroof (instructions in the manual), aslo the Nav will take a little while to sync itself - but it will - just drive around, stop lock the car for a while and drive around again. Also sync the ESP.

Go for it clearly worth it - just came back from a long trip to upstate NY and Ontario with peace of mind.

If it would stop raining here it'd be better.
