Best oil to use
What's the best oil (weight, viscosity, brand, etc.) for W210 E55 in Northern California?
I'm thinking of giving Mobil 1 5W-30. Is this good?

Just want to share in case ppl want to know as well.... found a pretty good website that shows the list of engine oil recommended for mercs....

BTW, I just realized that FRAM oil filter is manufactured by MANN, which I think is MB OEM supplier.
Anyone knows this?
Darn.... I still couldn't figure out how to open the AMG cover to check/replace air filters..... can someone please help me?

I would run synthetic 0W-40 or 5W-40 in your E55. 5W-30 is not recommended (as shown on the link you posted) because it's simply too thin at operating temperature. You'll want the protection of a 40-weight. Since you're in California, you don't have to worry about sub-zero starts so 0W and 5W would make negligible difference.
Mann is indeed an OEM supplier for various European makes, but I don't know if they really do make Fram filters. If in doubt, get the OEM Mercedes oil filters.
As for taking off AMG engine covers, look for some bolts.
