M156 Engine Swap
hey guys, may be toying around the idea of swapping an engine here from a donor car.. My car is an W211 E63, want to put in a lower mileage m156.
Does the donor engine have to be out of an W211 E/ W219 CLS (to make sure mounts line up)? Or can it be any M156? Such as, out of a w204?

if you're swapping a M156 from any chassis to your car which has an M156 any mismatched items can be taken from your engine. engine mounts for pretty much most but not all M156 configurations are compatible. W204 will have a different intake y-pipe. the W211 M156 is the higher flow y-pipe. headers will be different.
here are all the chassis's that utilize compatible engine mounts.

^^ Correct
The manifold is the biggest pita as its only like one plug that I think is different. But its a good chance to pull the manifold down and check it for that alloy corrosion problem and paint it or expoxy it if need be.
