M 156 engine timing chain information needed.

Good day guys, I need an M 156 engine timing chain replacement information.
I have a knocking noise in the morning.

Sorry, but I don't have this information. But I will say, most often it's not the timing chain, but the tensioners or the followers.

I had the same problem recently. I changed an timing chain and the oil pump chain along with Tensioners. Now it's quiet and it works very tight. I also changed the gear of the crankshaft because it had worn teeth.

and a known problem is the original camshaft adjusters rattling when cold. Unfortunately many options to figure out.

how many miles do all of you have on your cars? although timing chains are "lifetime" with most/all engines, it is required to be inspected at 100k and in shorter intervals there after. tensioner and related items lifespan will vary though.
