2005 e55 amg

E55 1wheel skids

Why is it that my e55 will only spin 1 wheel when I try and do a burnout ?? Embarrassing am going to go ahead with the quaife I think

that will help but I could do it in my 05 without one

mine doesn’t it just lights up the drivers side even when in dyno mode

That is because you have an open differential, you need to put in a limited Slip Differential like a Quaife or Wave Trac, something.

Is there a foolproof way to identify one of these limited slip diffs? My car has gears and I'd like to know if it also has something like a Quaife. A traditional clutch limited slip will spin both tires the same way when you jack it up due to preload but the planetary gear style ones act open until some torque is applied...

And by foolproof I guess I mean something other than pulling the ESC fuse and attempting a burnout or something.

I believe it was a very rare option on 2006-2009 W211 AMGs. I do not believe it was available for the 2003-2005 cars. That being said, your car could've been modified by the previous owner but I do not think a diff would be the first change you would see.

Yes I know it would require a modification. I already figured out I don't have 2.65 gears based on RPMs and some calculations I did - so it's been modified. Therefore I'm wondering if someone slapped a Quaife in there while they were inside but not sure how to check. I hope it does...
