Debate settler, w204 c63 FBO vs modified e55
Hey everyone, so I had a chance to let 2 of my cars go at it yesterday, myself driving my beloved e55 and my brother driving the c63, we had always wondered what was faster in a straight line between my 2 cars so yesterday evening we set it up
here are the mods on both cars
2006 e55-
Eurocharged tune, 83mm pulley, heat exchanger, idler pulley upgrade, colder spark plugs, cls63 mufflers and mid length headers, no cats or resonator . Maybe I’m forgetting a few small things nothing to crazy (108k miles)
2009 c63-
long tube headers, dyno tune, European air boxes and filters, stock 2nd cats and res intact. Stock mufflers (154k miles) dyno’d at 490whp 440wtq in May when mods where installed
that e55 blew it out the water almost every time, the 63 took it off a launch Bc of the low torque but the e55 seemed to pull away each time especially at a 40 roll+

Now slap a Weistec Supercharger on a M156, and it will be a whole different ball game.

Haha, yeah I agree, the 113k torque is just to much maybe 120-130+ it’ll take the 55 top end but low down 113k power is to much for a 156

The C63 is like 500-600 lbs lighter...would it walk it in the curves? maybe...airmatic isn't as tuned as I wish it was, but still great for what it is.
You have to remember. turns favor torque, and with the M113k you'll have instant torque, so walk....I don't think so.

shorter wheel base doesn't mean its a better handling machine...trans...not as important when you have gobs of torque. what the W204 does for sure is weight, brakes, and possibly a better suspension that being coils and shock.

How can anyone realistically compare the two, one has a supercharger, and the other is all engine. You would have to at least equip the C63 with it's own supercharger to compare them equally.

it’s actually a topic that gets brought up all the time, the whole blown vs not blown became irrelevant to me when I saw what 5.0 mustangs do fbo haha

me as well, I didn’t intent for this to become an angry debate considering both cars where mine and I enjoy both very much, even more so than the 212 bi turbos that I owned

Ahhh, I can see this debate still rages on. Coming from a former die hard E55 owner.
I have seen it happen both ways. E55 less tan 100 mph. C63 over 100 mph. Those M156 rev like hell and now with E85 tunes they really wake up with long tube headers.
