I was trying to fix a leak at the windshield washer bottle over the weekend. I decided to trim a little bit off the end of the line feeding the squirters, to give it a fresh/tight connection, when I made this discovery.
Can someone tell me why there are wires inside the fluid hose, and what their purpose is? I accidentally snipped one. They don't run all the way up to the hood, or if they do, they never exit the hose anywhere.
I assume it's part of the level sensor... but why?

Some brands of windshield washer fluid may not have enough alcohol content, to keep it from freezing, so Mercedes added this heating element for the washer fluid, It’s purpose is to warm up the fluid prior to it being sprayed on the windshield in freezing temperatures.
