This guy is from my area. Pretty amazing with Mercedes vehicles. Check his manual swap.

He still was not wrong.

He clearly and concisely showed how and why it occurred. And it was clearly as he said it was.

Hardly hysteria. As these cars get older and if your pulling it and apart and in the area why not replace it?

As far as im concerned it was good information. What you choose to do with it is your bag.

An no im not going out of my way to replace them.

If you look at his videos he built a race car from scratch. Frame and all. I believe he has a M113k engine in it with a turbo

listen, I think we can all agree he's far smarter than most of us...if not all of us. but I disagree with his assumption that all 113k have this issue. these cars are OLD, like 14years in most cases. if this was a widespread issue we'd have thread after thread of car blowing up. most of us are all well over 100k miles and most cars are at least tuned. could it happen? sure. will it? the law of averages says probably not.

Nobody on here is road racing one of these like he is. As he says in other videos he's going to dry sump the thing for obvious reasons. With the original e55 body I doubt it could generate enough g force for the pan to be a major issue but that thing hes got the motor in now certainly could if the downforce and slicks work.

Doing straight line pulls like 99.9% of people on this forum do is nothing compared to doing the same thing going around corners.

I dont think anyone has ever said they all have this problem I think he was just pointing out a potential issue.

all o-rings on mercedes will have hardened over time. at 90k my oil cooler hard lines off he engine were leaking. replaced those o-rings and other o-rings lower on the hardlines on the process. the first and only thing i tell people regardless of engine is replace all o-rings. BTW, they have changed type at least for the M156. They went from a maroon colored to a black o-ring which denotes a different material.

All depends on oil changes and heat too. Both his engines clearly where very dirty inside to to very long oil change intervals. Add large amounts of heat and ???

dirt has nothing to do with o-ring longevity. it has to do with the heat and amount of time the heat has been applied to the material. some harden, some shrink, some harden and shrink. no o-ring is forever, but matching the correct temperature range and material to use or function will prevent premature failure. some are specific oil or hydraulics whereas others are for water, some are for solvants, some are for air only.

This is truly great.
I completely respect the guys at XF Engineering for pioneering this tremendous effort and also jheadley98 for using his car as serial number 0001.
I look forward to the follow-ups on the SC issue and also software reprogram to remove the auto gear lever mechanism (plus cost).

Exciting stuff!

I wonder if the same thing could be done for the E63?

He's mentioned that he is going to do the same thing with a W204 C63 so I would imagine it could also be done on a W211 E63 since it's the same engine.

I wonder why the OEM clutch pedal setup from another model within the W211 platform was not used. Clean integration and readily available replacement parts for future repairs.

I know that a C63 conversion would be awesome, literally "a thug in a suit"
