Lug nut help...

Hey guys I got some rims for my CL55 amg but when I was putting them on I noticed the stock lug nuts are too short.

Anyways I needed some help since I do not know what thread pattern our cars are, does anyone know? Also how long should the lug nuts I am buying be? I will post pictures below of how far the stock lug nut looks on the stock wheel then another picture of how the stock lug nut looks on the new aftermarket rim.

Thanks!

The bolt should thread into the hub at least as wide as the bolt. 14mm is the bolt size and it should have 14mm of thread engaged in the hub at a minimum.

I used 14x1.5 with a 40mm shank on mine with aftermarket rims. I remember being worried when buying them after reading someone saying any longer than 30 something-mm will require trimming to keep them from rubbing on the hub, but I had no clearance issues with the 40mm on mine. May differ depending on the rims

This place is a joke.
You don't want them too long because the rear ones can go too far into the hub and hit your parking brake assembly, creating a huge problem.
Also, these are called wheel bolts.

M14x1.5 x whatever length they are

they even sell little studs so you don’t have to struggle putting your wheel back on

Yeah I went with the 28mm since I did some measurements. I wanted the aftermarket one to stick out the same as the stock ones.

Yeah wheel bolts force of habit calling them lugs... Yes I checked how much space until the brake dust shield and there is a lot so I think I am good on that.

Yeah I saw the stud thing done on a bmw but I don't change rims that often. Thats good on a drift car or something like that.

Yes the 14x1.5 28mm I ordered, maybe too short but I did some measurements so it can stick out exactly like the stock one does
