Lost key help
Hey All;
So I lost a key set, that included a key fob for our 2007 E63. Dealer wants 650 bucks for a replacement. Is there a more affordable alternative?

Not for Mercedes, no reprogramming used keys. You can also check some locksmith. I think depending on the year, they can program them. Only way to get them cheaper is to call around to various dealers and see what they charge. They like to sneak in a programming charge which is basically putting the key in the ignition and turning it on. If you call parts, they should just be able to order the key for you. If the one you call is far away, see if the local dealer will price match.
I suggest getting something like Tile for $20 for the next time so it doesn't get lost.

I ordered a new key years ago, and the price was around $250, and it came pre-programmed. Listen to what, has already been said shop around, call different dealerships.
If you live in a metropolitan area, I would start searching outside of that area, within a 2 hour radius to get a better price.

My replace key was keyless go for my E63. And like I said it has been a few years since I purchased this key. And it did come programmed for my AMG.
But if you search outside of your metropolitan area, the prices should be cheaper.
