Sound German 150% Valve body

Hey All,

Just got a CL600 transmission and Sound German 150% valve body installed and was wondering if anyone else on here has one.

do yall feel like it is finicky? I have only had it for 2 days but sometimes it shifts like it is stock and other times i feel like its going to break the transmission.

It will take some for it to adapt, I'd give it at least a couple hundred miles for it to learn all of the load tables etc.

Felt the same way when I installed mine two months ago. It will get better as it adapts and as you get used to it. I still have harsh upshift/downshift under certain conditions

So turns out there is definitely something wrong. the shifts are so harsh it has destroyed the clutch packs and now I am out the $3800 bucks I spent. Still haven't got to fix it since the shop (Eurocharge ATX) basically told me to shove it. I am going to do another conductor plate, solenoid and fluid replacement and see if anything changes.

The symptoms are:

Car runs and shifts ok till the car starts to heat up.
when trans mission is warm it will fall out of gear on occasion
after about 45 min to an hour of driving the car shifts VERY hard and is nearly undriveable.

I have not. I did not buy it from him Eurocharged did. I don't necessarily think the VB is the issue. But with those guys who knows what happened.

Valvebodies are not intermittent. It is a mechanical part. If it is changing then it is tuning or something else. Also harsh shifts do not ruin clutch packs. Slow soft shifts under load burn up clutches. Normally if I get complaints it is a tcm tune that is causing it. Try a stock TCM if you have a tuned one and see if the probelms go away.
I tried calling you yesterday from your email. I have not heard back. I am available most of the time. 8-5 PST.

Thanks. Yesterday got hectic quick. Were you the call from WA? I don't think it is the valve body but thought you may have some insight. I don't believe the TCU is tuned at all. I have all the receipts from the PO and there is a dyno tune but no mention of anything done to the TCU. I haven't taken it back apart but they said that the fluid was full of clutch material again. I really shouldn't trust anything they say though. Ill see if I can find someone to loan me a tcu to try it out. I just ordered all new solenoids and conductor plate. When i do that i plan to do a sudo flush of the trans too.

have not got the test tcu yet but did all new shif solenoids and conductor plate. Did sneaky rest also. Its as bad as it was the first time maybe worse. Shifting poorly some times flairing into gear and sometimes slamming into gear. Went into limp mode. Restarted the car and it shifted again but got a cel. Will pull codes when I can find the reader. Someone said they would ship me a stock ecu so ill clear the codes and wait for that to show up.

OK so way late update.

I installed another used transmission and left the stock valve bnody in it. Drove about 500 miles with no issues. I then decided that I would tear down and clean the valve body then reinstall it. I took it all apart checked everything rebuilt it and installed it in the car with a new conductor plate tcc. all other solenoids are know good. First drive everything went well for about 1000 yards then the trans went to limp and would not work with manual or shift out of second gear. brought the car back check ed the fluid level topped off with half a ltr and reset the codes. Now the trans shifts but it is VERY hard in each gear. I am going to go back to the stock VB with the same conductor plate and solenoids. if this fixes the issue there is definitely something not right with the VB. Either way i think i am done i cant keep doing $100 dollar fluid changes to figure this out.

that is what i am thinking too but i get conflicting info. the original company that did the work blamed the alternator. They said it fried the “electronics”. Personally I think that is BS. After installing a new OE alternator I changed all the electronic transmission part including the tcu with no change. then i was told the trans the installed was no longer good. that is when i swapped another one. Then i put the sound german VB into known good trans and that doesn’t work right either. we will see what happens when the old VB with the new conductor plate and solenoids goes back in. at this point i am pretty sure what is wrong but no one wants to admit fault (go figure)

First thing you should do is clear codes , drive it and see what code pops up first. That is usually the culprit and all the others fall in line afterwards.
Sounds like a pressure control issue for sure but hit me up for any information. I am a transmission rebuilder by trade and have done many of these units.

thanks i have cleared and reset adaptaion every time i have changed it out. At this point i am just making sure it is not the condutor plate or the any other electronics before i toss that VB in the trash.
