Quote: Explain that? Ignores your requests using paddles?? This version is what I call full sequential style mode. Instant Upshifts or Downshifts in M-Sequential Mode with paddle shifters that give firm instant shifts. TCU hardware is modified and has a custom switch to toggle M-Modes. Has regular S mode with super fast dsg style shifts, M-1 Mode, M-Sequential Style Mode Full Control
In manual mode or using paddles in auto it is fairly quick at downshifting. For upshifting it often shifts when it feels like it normally would in full auto. For example I accelerate at moderate pace, reach 3000rpm hit upshift to second, it won't shift for another 1-5 seconds. It will often hold gears at high rpm despite using paddle to shift to a higher gear.

Very impressive. Might I ask what mods you have to hit that time? I have LTH, XL heat exchanger, 180mm crank pulley, injectors, ECU and TCU tune but doubt I would come anywhere close. Also are you using gas or E85?

As always Troy's fantastic developments with these TCU's. And as always new adjustments on mine for my next race with really fast turn around time. Couldn't find some one better to deal with especially in today's market !

Sorry to bring up an old thread but has anyone tried the SLR X TCU upgrade tune yet?

I just sent my TCU from my CLS55 for the SLR upgrade. I had an older version from early 2022. I hope to have it back next week.

I previously had the Stage 1 TCU and sent it in for an update. I ended up upgrading to the SLR firmware. The most shocking thing was driving my car for 1-2 weeks with the stock TCU. I had forgotten just how bad it is. I really avoided driving the car until the upgraded TCU came back. The SLR was initially a little harsher than the Stage 1, but after a period of learning it has been great. I mostly drive in S, but often switch to A when I want something a little snappier. Manual mode is surprisingly fast.

great feedback! Does it also give you M1 & M2 modes? Or is it just one manual mode (I think SL65 BS had two but forgot if SLR only has one. No jerkiness running around town or harsh downshift slowing down to a stop sign?

Only one manual mode. Not sure why I would need more than 1. It is very quick, but not harsh at all.

The downshifts at low speed are smooth and properly timed. It is something I noticed switching to the SLR setup. Getting back into the throttle you are already in the correct gear. You don't need to wait for a delayed downshift.

In Sport mode it leaves the line smoothly. It feels like the lockup speed is raised just a bit (I recall that is what the description says as well). No bogging off the line.

I think this is one of the first and best mods for the money an E55 owner can make. The shifting feels so much more modern than stock.

TJ is great to do deal with. If he does a major update on firmware after you purchase, he will update it for free. You just pay shipping.

This is my next purchase too. Had a V1 (quite harsh) but they developed a much nicer tune for gentle daily driving that firms up considerably when you drive more aggressively. Unfortunately my suspension arms and bushings stole my modification budget.

I have not gone much but around my house around 35mph but I noticed the shifts are quicker in Agility mode. With the SLR V1 tune the Trans would not shift into 3rd until above 25pmh. With V2 the transmission will shift into 3rd before 25mph. I did a quick 95% WOT from 5mph and trans response went into hyper mode!! Shift from 1-2 even though I had already let off was very positive feeling. I'll report back more when I can stretch her legs.

I had some more opportunity to drive my CLS55 (with my R500 having a no crank scenario) with V2 SLR tune and I have to say the cruising light throttle town driving is very close to V1. When the throttle is pushed though the downshift and responsen is definitely quickened. It's hard to to really stretch its legs but a 3/4 throttle hit entered psychopath mode going from 70mph to 120mph only taking a few seconds and quite literally startled me while the car kept pulling in 3rd and still did not upshift until I had to let off. Really wished I could have gotten it into 4th. This was all in the Agility mode. The revised torque calibrations were definitely noticed! Grand slam of a tune! Thank you to TJ Merry for offering the upgrade for free as well!

Just installed my MK Ultra Stage 1 TCU and unfortunately had some major issues which were so disappointing.
1 CEL on
2 car is stuck in Sport mode and wont cycle modes, paddles dont work
3 shifting gears and from P - R or D its extremely jerky and the car nearly hit the garage wall during the cold start maneuvering.
apparently it got damaged in shipping , anyone else had this problem?

No, I have purchased 2 different versions internationally. No issues with shipping from the US, great communication.

I ordered one for my 2006 E55 and it was great. Sent it back for updating and it was even better after that.
Any chance there is a problem with the connectors not being seated correctly? Did you disconnect the battery before installing? What CEL codes are you getting? It the car ok with the OEM TCU installed?
