2003 e55 amg tune questions
ive been looking at getting a tune, but also want to add smaller sc...so my question is if i do the tune first, then decide i want more power and get the smaller pulley later, do i have to buy a whole new tune or are there any tuners that allow me to change the tune after i do more mods?

Highly recommend the RaceIQ tune. Anthony is a really cool guy and they provide excellent customer service.
I recently went with 83mm, but decided I wanted to go smaller and bought the VRP 76mm. I contacted Anthony, paid the $30 and got the new tune.

RaceIQ is 30. Pretty sure Erocharged is 150. As for the pulley if your thinking about doing the 84mm do it at the same time. Doing the 84 after a tune isn't enough. Search some old threads. If your going with an 80mm or 77mm then you can wait. While some won't agree with this there are cases where people got the 84 after they had a tune and it was only like 12hp 30tq. Together it's night and day. I ran the 84 and race IQ tune for 5 years and it was nice.

One thing I'll add here is if you go with a US tuner you may run into an 82mm TB issue down the road if you ever go that route. I have tunes from RaceIQ, EC, and DTK. I started getting the TB lean/map switch over issue with the 82 with both race IQ and EC. They will tell you an install issue but I've been down the rabit hole trying to solve it and no luck. But if I put the stock 74 back on, no issue. I got a DTK tune for other reasons, and randomly noticed it never did the 82mm hiccup/lean issue. Been running DTK tunes since I found that out over 6 months ago and never had the issue again.
I've also heard Vanno Vtec tunes do not have the 82mm issue either.
Also DTK (and Vtec I believe) still do 100% free retunes.
So, just a little more input to help you decide.

I also have a set of Kleeman shorty headers (SLK55) that would probably fit but I'd rather wait for LT.

Kyle do not get a tune or do anything to the car until you install a wide band digital gauge.
Engines pop because no one knows what is going on in the cylinders and just load the tune in and go to town....until something bad happens.
I can't tell you how many tunes I loaded in to get it spot on and even had a tune sent that had the wrong injector size and ran dangerously lean. Only way I new was from the gauge.
Just my two cents but worth the money to install all day, every day.

How are people doing widebands? Both banks? Weld another bung? I'm sure there's a thread for this but thought I'd ask because even though my car supposedly only has a Eurocharged tune, I do lose sleep at night knowing that my engine could be one lean event away from piston failure. Seems to be what kills them. Of course, it's not just the tune but the questionable returnless fuel system with dual pumps, inadequate wiring, etc., etc. But I digress...
