**Help** removing “don’t forget key” chime

I’ve searched, but haven’t been able to find a step by step DIY to get rid of the annoying “Don’t forget key” chime.

I have a DAS with developer mode but can’t seem to figure out how to do it. I’ve spent hours in the central gateway (I’m no expert) but can’t find how to disable the keyless go, and tried changing it to Rest of World, but no luck.

My car is a 2006 E55 wagon, not sure if there’s any differences.

That's all you have to do. Did you actually hit the button to code the module at the end?

I can't remember if you have to do the instrument cluster as well. It's been 7 years since I did it on mine.

You can code off Keyless go as "not present" in the CGW, and it'll accomplish the same thing. This is based on other threads and not what I've done. Your mileage, and your chime, may vary. I'm also not responsible if your car explodes, or you lock yourself in permanently and require jaws of life to get out.

It's in the Star sticky thread.

I’ll post some pics of my step by step and see if anyone can see what’s going wrong. I did hit F5 to code.

the DIY in the sticky thread isn’t very detailed

Ah, but DID it code? You also don't need to do it through the engineering mode. Try it without.

It did code because when I went back in the next time it was still set to ROW.

Here's what I've tried
Main Groups
>ControlUnits
>Body
>Instrument Cluster
>Control Unit Adaptations
>Variant Coding
>National Variant Coding
>National configuration: "Rest of World" & SA Code 461 "Not Present"

Am I in the wrong part of the CGW?

I think I found it, just to close the loop....I'll see if it works tomorrow...

Setting to change for "Rest of the world (RDW)" and "Keyless GO"

- On main groups go to "control Unit"
- then to "Body"
- then to "CGW"
- then to "development data"
- then to "Control Unit Adaptation"
- then to "Control Unit Adaptation (Variant Coding)"
- then to "Globale Variantencodierung Draco"
- the thrid and forth option should say "US" or "USA", replace that for "Rest der welt (RDW)"
- then scroll down till you see "keyless go" on the left and to the right you will click the submenu tab and select "Nicht Vorhanden"
- then click "F3" and "YES"
- to ensure it worked go to the "Globale Variantencodierung" and one of the first 2 or 3 options should say already RDW and if you scroll down, you should find the keyless go also and should be switched off.
