Just out of curiosity, have you checked your battery?
My E63 had just enough juice to get it to crank, but not enough to get the starter to engage. Got a jump from AAA and went and got a new battery and she was good to go.

Ive had this happen to my CLK55. It would start multiple times and run fine sitting in the shop. And it would also shut off while idling. Once it got hot, it wouldn’t start. Swapped the CPS and it seems fine now.
I had this happen to my E55 but it would be random cold or hot no start. It was the fuel pump relay.

Tiambert,
Yes. it happened to me before a couple of year ago and i replaced the fuel relay.
This time the fuel relay seem working fine. (I clicked when starting).
As of right my main focus is to removed the E8 bolt from the CPS.
It's very hard to removed the bolt. The E8 sock would slipped out from the bolt.
Any suggestion to getting the bolt out ?

the cramped space and limited accessibility of the cps location drove me nuts. Are you having an issue with the the bolt itself or the possibility of it falling? For removal, I taped a magnet to the end of my socket to prevent it from falling into the abyss. During reinstallation, I had the bolt/socket/cps taped together loosely with scotch tape, it gave enough hold for me to easily re-insert the cps, then when tightening the bolt, it breaks away the scotch tape for easy disposal.

Hello Everyone,
I want give everyone update to the Crank but not start issue.
First off, I was able to removed the striped bolt and than removed the CPS with a friend help (He have shop with bolt extractor).
It turn out it was a fuel line inside the tank that connected to the fuel pump causing no start. Yes there is a fuel going to the engine but with 1 line disconnected there are not enough fuel to open the injector. As of right now the car is running good after connect the fuel line back to the fuel pump. I'm happy with result.
Thank you, for everyone input.
It is great input.
Thank again.

Hello All,
Thank you. Yes, it was loose gas line at the fuel pump.
I did replaced the CPS and didn't resolve the issue. So I decide, to look into the pump and found 1 of the line was coming loose cause not enough gas pressure send to the injectors.
Thank you for everyone. ALL great info and I'd learned.

Same issue
Hey so I'm new to this forum I drive an 04 e55 amg and I've recently been having starting issues and I replaced the crankshaft position sensor and it started today when I went out to her after she didn't turn over immediately after I replaced the sensor, what could/should be my next step in fixing this before I cave and take it to a workshop?
