Power steering fill up

Power steering fill up
I know these are very basic questions, my power steering is groaning... I have some 4-5 year old Pentosin from the dealer from when my CLK exploded the PS lines, it is green in colour A001 989 24 03 10.
Is this the correct fluid?
Ok to use if it has been opened or is it like brake fluid that absorbs water?
Since there is hopefully no air to bleed, I can just top it up with the engine off and check it a few times over the coming days?

This place is a joke.
Green pentosin is correct, however, go ahead and replace the reservoir. There is a fine filter inside that clogs after some time causing the fluid to aerate. As long as the container has been kept closed it will be fine no matter if it's old.

Thanks, I have topped it up, I am guessing it only needed 30-40mL. I will add the reservoir to the to do list along with spark plugs and valve cover gaskets. The other car is in many pieces currently so need to get that going before any E55 work, hopefully block and head will be back from engine rebuilders in the next couple of weeks.
