E63 radiator fan on at high speed
Hey guys! New to the forum and ownership of w211 e63. Yesterday i was drove my car for good 60-70km did some pulls but at partial throttles. What i noticed was when i was about to reach my home the radiator fan started at full high speed felt like a jet turbine. I parked my car turned my car off and took out the keys but the fan was still running at full speed until i locked my car and it stopped. Also i drove with high beams on in case it has got something to do with it. My oil and car temps were normal AC was on and it was cooling perfectly. I have done some harsh pulls before that to back to back when oil temps rose uptil 120C also but never heard the fan running at this high speed. Yesterfay oil temp was only at 109C water temps were notmal at 90 and in the morning i also checked my coolant it was perfectly fine and full. Really confused what actually happened?

I don't think that it was your radiator fan, but the Oil Cooler Fan instead. When the oil temperature sensor measures how extremely hot the oil is, the oil cooler fan will kick come on, once the oil reaches 220F +/- degrees or more.
You may need to change out your oil temp sensor, if this keeps happening. But first you need to diagnose the issue at a shop, before your start replacing sensors.
We replaced my oil temp sensor, and my tech took it for a test drive, when he came back the oil cooler fan was on full blast. Just like a jet engine. Then he calibrated it, and all was fine.

Still, this issue needs to be sorted out. The last thing you want to have is cooling issues. Most people don't know that oil serves three purposes; lubricating, cooling and cleaning.
The engine oil in the M156 is critical, as these things get really hot. I don't claim to be an expert, but I've owned (3) M156 equipped AMG's over the years. So, I do know something about these cars.
It could be the fan module, or the oil temp sensor, either way it's best to have it checked out.

Sorry, old topick and couldn't find any other thread to ask so... Is it possible to tamper fan speeds in ME97 ecu? I have done this with my older AMGs but they were ME28 and lot more open to mod tiny details in variant codeing.

I remember reading about a "desert mode" in the W204 C63 forum. Supposedly, changing it through SDS makes the fans come on earlier or run at highr speeds.

some of our customers have requested their fans to be 100% on all the time with their tunes. yes it is possible with a tune. we also set our oil cooler fans to kick on 10c degree's sooner and for some customers we set this to 20c sooner.
