My 2006 E55 doesn’t have Trunk lights because the previous owner removed them when doing body work.
Is it difficult to wire & install new ones? It would be nice to have some light in the Trunk when it’s being used especially at night.

Here’s the Empty light socket in the trunk liner.
Are the electrical connectors still there behind the trunk liner? If so, it looks like you would have two lights - one on each sides of the trunk opening. That part number for each light 211 820 38 01. If you provide your VIN I can confirm the lights your car originally came with.

I haven’t checked because I don’t know how to remove the trunk liner cover.
is it just a clip on plastic piece or held in by screws?
Plastic push rivets, the rectangular kind. Just pry the tops up and remove. There are 6 of them. Then unclip each side (above each light socket) and the whole thing lifts out. Just be gentle. It seems flimsy.
