W211 2007 E350 4matic: Mystery oring after conductor plate install
Hey everyone thanks for taking a second to look.
Installed a new conductor plate on my 2007 E350 4matic today. Everything went smooth with the kit from FCP euro. But a stray oring caught my eye in the grass next to me after tearing everything apart.
I'm fairly sure this may have been from some other project, or was hiding inside the splash guards for years until I pulled them off. But better safe than sorry.
Before I fill and test drive, does anyone recognize a small oring during this job? It's about a half inch in size. None of the parts diagrams mention it, and the kit did not come with this size oring. All o-rings on the solenoids are accounted for and also the two on the electrical plug connector. After a hard look I don't see anywhere it would be needed during this process.
Thank you!

Did you remove the trans oil cooler lines during this project?

I think I may have figured this one out.
Filled up the transmission today via the top fill tube. When I removed the cap, I noticed an o-ring embedded in the pipe. Came to the realization I probably tried to replace it last time I checked the level and put on a new cap, and likely dropped it.
And as I tried to pull it out to compare, I dropped it, and it fell into the lower shield just like I thought it might have hah
Good thing my new cap seems to come with that o-ring. Side by side comparison they look to be identical.
Went on a test drive and everything feels okay, no leaks.
