CD changer door squeaking
Hey guys,
Tried searching online but didn’t find much. My CD changer door opens perfectly but does make a squeaking noise - sounds like it needs lubrication but I wasn’t sure where/how to apply. Any suggestions? I looked online but couldn’t find much info.

Using WD-40 on a CD player or drive is a bad idea. The spray is so fine that it can easily get inside the player's housing and coat the laser lens, which is a major problem for the device's ability to read discs. The lubricant can also attract dust and debris, leading to even more issues.
For lubricating the mechanical parts of a CD player, such as the tray mechanism or gears, a thicker lubricant like white lithium grease is the much better choice. It stays put, won't migrate to sensitive components like the laser, and provides effective, long-lasting lubrication.

I use lithium grease on every dam thing; door hinges, door locks anywhere where lubrication is required, even the sunroof tracks.
