WHEEL HELP NEEDED!!!
Good Evening Guys!!
First post but need DRASTIC HELP.
So as the title states,
2004 E55 AMG and GOT MY HANDS ON 2003 S55 AMG MONOBLOCKS.
PROBLEM LIES IN THE FRONT CALIPER CLEARANCE.
DO I SHAVE THE CALIPER FOR FITMENT? THE BARREL IS DIFFERENT THAN ORIGINAL FOR CLEARANCE AND I NOTICED AFTER CREATING A 1 OF 1 WHEEL/TIRE SETUP FOR THE CAR AND ONLY TO FIND OUT CALIPER CLEARANCE ISNT THERE.
I'M STUBBORN TO MAKE THEM FIT SINCE THEY LOOK SO Fing GOOD!
HERE'S THE WHEELS FINISHED MACHINE LIP ON BLACK CHROME CENTER FITTED WITH 245 40 18 INDY 500 AND REAR 275 35 18 INDY 500.
CLASSIC/BEST WHEEL LOOK FOR THE CAR.
Just too PERFECT not to MOUNT AND ENJOY~!

There is no way I would be grinding parts of my calipers off. I don't like spacers but is this an option? Where are they making contact?

It seems to be touching on the top outer edge of the caliper. just making small contact. I'm wondering about a 10mm spacer on the front if need be but i think feathering the edge is going to be my only option. The wheel is an AWESOME look for me and my car. Its kind of a throwback and modernized approach for me. I love an OE performance look that you're not sure if it came from the factory that way. also the 8.5 front and 9.5 rear was a good selling point.

Why not use a 5mm spacer to achieve the proper clearance, or have a machine shop make you a 2-3mm spacer, if you need something smaller to get the clearance needed.
But don't go grinding on your caliper.

The wheel width and offset is your issue. Most S class wheels use a higher offset that an E55. You will need to use a spacer to get the wheel in the same general offset range as needed for the E55. So, get the wheel width and the offset (if it is a MB wheel the offset is reported on the back of the wheel as ETxx) and we can help you figure out how they need to be spaced to possibly fit. The MB part number off the back of the whell can help too.

love the look! can we get more pics?
i was wondering lately why we don't see more monoblocks on the 211 but it sounds like they require a bit of work to fit. has everything been ok since installing them?
the specs of the w210 e55 monoblocks sound like they'd work but i read somewhere that they use a 12 bolt diameter while we use 14
