PSA: Doing your valve covers? Get filler neck gaskets too.
Finishing valve covers now and the references I've seen make no mention of the plastic filler neck gasket.
EPC also does not list a separate gasket for the M113k plastic filler neck version 1120100164.
Thanks to a lone random post I came across that mentioned the filler neck gasket is the same as the oil cap gasket, I investigated further and yes indeed they are.
Makes sense since the plastic filler neck attaches on the valve cover the same way and place as the oil filler cap, the cap can actually go straight onto the valve cover.
The filler cap gasket is 1110180080. My parts place did not have this in stock so since I wanted to finish this right away I just got a new oil filler cap 1110180302 and pulled the gasket off that.
Now this is the first time I got to peek into the engine a bit and I'm happy it looks really clean inside. With new gaskets and resealing the breather covers, will try to get the exterior just as clean too!
