Does anyone personally know the owner of the 1 of 1 sunburst yellow E55 wagon that is currently in Florida? I would like to get in contact. I want to make a strong offer on the car, I really want it.
Here’s a write up. And yea it’s owned by an older lady who gets asked a lot about it. She has told several people it’s not for sale, so I assume she knows what she’s got. Supposedly it’s in St. Petersburg FL.
Also, when i was questing for my own E55 wagon, I had big designs on owning the yellow one. I quickly discovered 2 other people who were already several steps ahead of me. They knew he had it, they had her contact info, they had both already spoken with her, were turned down, and were just stashing cash until she relents or they have enough of an offer to convince her.
If I were to just guess; no one's buying this wagon for less than $40k, minimum, for now. In 5 years that figure could easily be $60k.
Is that an original color or something? Seems like it would eventually become more sensible to just get a wagon and paint it in the color of your choice...
EDIT: Ah I missed the 1 of 1 thing somehow. So while I get the premium for the rarity, I assume there is also a premium for the coolness of the color itself, which is resolvable on any wagon...

Part of me wants to respray my 744 silver wagon some day. It's the 2nd most popular color after black for E55 wagons. However, it's still extremely rare (1 of 36 in the US in this color) so I can't help but conclude that anyone repainting their E55 wagon in the US is doing themselves a disservice.
The yellow one, though, is a jaw dropper. Yellow stitching on the seats and door cards to match the exterior paint. It's going to end up on a pedestal one day.

I have the plate number and VIN but no owner information.
Using some online tools that's often enough to get owner information; might have to pay though. The guy I talked to isn't willing to share the info and it's understandable.
