What is this sound?
Hello guys I have a CL55 amg and it has been making this high pitch sound. It only happens when the car is really warmed up, You can hear it in 1st gear the most but also in other gears too.
Since my car has ABC I thought it was the Pulsation Damper at first but I have since replaced that and it did not change anything. It sounds to be transmission related but my car still shifts like it has always.
The transmission fluid is also on the max level and is not dirty. Any ideas what it could be? I will post a video link down below with a sound clip while I am in park.

Why did you start another post ?
This video is much better so easyer to hear it. Sounds like your torque converter is starting to go. I would stop driving it and start diag. process before it takes out the entire transmission with metal. Have you dropped the pan yet to look ?

I was driving it to the gas station and it felt harsh. I was able to make it home when it put itself in another gear.
It finally threw a check engine light with this code: p0730
Now the question is what could it be? I talked to one mechanic on the phone and he says it is the conductor plate but I have also read about a wire getting soaked in trans fluid?

Alright I took off the pan and I do not see any flakes of metal. The filter is also clean. Could it just be the conductor plate now? It did every symptom of that.

Curious - did you ever find out what the true culprit was? My W211 E55 with the M113K/722.6 is having the SAME exact issue with the same code.

You could try an adaptation reset as in the video, but it sure looks like it points to the conductor plate. If you are swapping it out, also replace all solenoid O-rings while you are in there! I didnt take this into consideration, but these rings tend to get hard and dont seal that well, leading to jerky motions etc.

Just order up the full conductor plate kit now, thanks man.
Searched around a bit and seemed most common was folks having transmission fluid wick up into the TCU due to faulty pilot bushing - but my TCU is dry, so must be the conductor plate. Good call on the o-rings too, was about to overlook that!
