Run, don't walk to change tires
After 2 flats, one a blow out on my Conti's that came with my 04 E55, in 8,000 miles, I contacted Tire Rack and had them ship me Michelin PS 2's. Just put them on this morning and drove about 150 miles and various roads. MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! I'm not kidding when I say it's like a different car. Knowing what I know now I'd spring for the extra $1,000 out of the box and just trash those Conti's from the start. I will NEVER allow those tires on another car. Just pull out your wallet and put the PS2's on. I guarantee you'll say WOW!!

I agree, it changes the entire driving experience of any car. The stock tires on any damn vehicle stink.
I changed to PS2's a few weeks back since it was time to get some new tires and my experience has been nothing but positive.

Did the same thing. Removed the Conti's after owning the car a few weeks. The PS2's are great, as are the SO-3's. Dry/wet handling similiar, but the PS2's are a little quieter and better riding.

I too have the conti's (stock) and had a left rear flat (not a blow out) at around 4k miles. lucky for me the flat fixer worked and when I went to a tire and wheel dealer I found out that I ran over some sort of object that pushed the tire tread up high enough to hit and break/crack the wheel from the inside (hard to believe - but there was no tire damage) so I had to get a new wheel.
now to my question - I have a set of PS2's on factory (E55) amg wheels that I used on my 03 E500 (sold). If I mount them on the E55 will the tire pressure thing-a-ma-gig option still function?
TIA

Yes as long as you use the same TPMS stems.
