Just bought one and opened the trunk to see a spare that has 2 gashes making it un-usable. Dealer quotes me $800+ for a replacement!!! Help!

also, the MB Star is missing from the intake cover. Any ideas for good parts and knick-knacks?

the dealer is the only option for the spare. and everyone is missing the star.

Teh star on the engine cover is not available separately. A number of cars have had these fall off over the years (mine included).

I noticed my star coming off the front cover and re-melted the studs, did some gentle grinding around the holes where they came through (after the melt), then spread a coat of 2-part epoxy on the area where the studs came through. It's held well so far...
